Am I Hypnotizable?

When people find out that I’m a trained hypnotherapist the first thing they ask is if I wave a pendulum in front of their face…And no, I don’t.  The second question I’m always asked is – What if I can’t be hypnotized?

And I always answer with: “Have you ever daydreamed?”

YES, of course!! Daydreaming and using your imagination are considered trance states of awareness, just like hypnosis. Another important note is that all hypnosis is self hypnosis, we work together to create healing within you.

I believe that we all have the innate ability to heal ourselves. That ability is often found in our imaginative, daydream state of awareness.

Have you ever driven your car home and been “in the zone” and suddenly found yourself in front of your house, not really remembering your trip home? Maybe you were really into your audiobook, or just really focused.  “In the zone” is considered a trance state of awareness!

Have you ever watched a movie and cried when the main character, like Tom Hanks starts crying over a lost love?  You and I know that he’s not really crying over anything, he’s making a million dollars for those tears.  But we are caught up in the moment.  The makeup fades away and we are a part of his world.  That’s a hypnotic state!

Hypnosis is a state of deep focus and concentration. You are likely to remain fully aware, but deeply relaxed. “Peaceful” and “Clear” are two ways people often describeHeal Ourselves Quote their experience.

Still not convinced? Take this quiz: Are you Hypnotizable?

What I love about being in a trance state is a feeling of space and wholeness.  Becoming more aware of who I truly am, and knowing that in this state the capacity for healing is magnified, strong and ever present.
